Chancery Judge E. Vincent Davis



E. Vincent Davis was born in Prentiss, Mississippi.  Judge Davis has lived the majority of his life in Fayette, Mississippi, where he presently resides.  He is a 1981 graduate of  Jefferson County High School.  Upon  completion of high school, he enrolled at Alcorn State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985.  He is also a 1989 graduate of Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson Mississippi, where he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.

Judge Davis began practicing law in 1989 including formerly serving as an Assistant District Attorney for the 6th Circuit Court District of Mississippi (Adams, Amite, Franklin, and Wilkinson counties) and later serving as the City Attorney for the City of Fayette.

Beginning January, 2008, Judge Davis commenced service in the Mississippi Senate, representing District 36 which includes Claiborne, Copiah, Jefferson and Hinds counties.  On December 7, 2009, he was appointed by Governor Haley Barbour as a Chancery Judge for the 17th Chancery Court District (Adams, Claiborne, Jefferson, and Wilkinson Counties).
